Peconic Pathfinders Series
Things are beginning to open up. The Town of Riverhead is preparing to open up Town Hall! The town will have a lot of catching up to do. We are hoping to get some recreational programs going as soon as we get the go ahead. Events may take awhile longer, but I've got an exciting idea be able to ease into. I'll leave that as a teaser for now.
We are scheduling a virtual event every week starting with the June 6th race: https://anthonyparlotomem5k.itsyourrace.com/ Register today!
the events between now and then. You will be awarded points for participation, mileage, and donations. You can participate in several distances on the same registration. You can even do them all. some have multiple distances. you can start with 1 mile and work your way up to 5K, 10K or 15K. Walk, Hike or Run your distances. Time does not matter.

All our events since the start of the year are eligible for points. When the ban on live events is over, we will switch over to live events. Each event will have a virtual option as well.
At our live event, there will be tee shirts for everyone, participation medals for all finishers. Awards for series winners for the year to that date. Then we will start a new series of live and virtual races till the end of the year.

Peconic Pathfinders was formed to find the hidden, unmarked and lost paths and in the spirit of Dr. Robert Cushman Murphy, we support environmental conservation. The 2,200-acre park was originally named the Peconic River County Park and renamed on what would have been his 100th birthday.   There are many paths, ponds and a river. The only marked trail today is the Pine Barrens Trail, AKA the Paumanok Path. Peconic Pathfinders has found the paths, cleaned them up and maintain them. We hope to be able to mark them soon. Depending on your status, now is the time to get back in shape or to get in better shape. There's not a lot of events going on in the winter. It's too wet and cold. Many of you travel to warmer climates in February. We now have many friends who live or travel to other parts of the country or other countries. We invite you to share with us on any of our Facebook groups. Tell your story and send photo's. Group photos are always fun. Tell us where you are running, walking or hiking.   You can participate in our workouts, training or hikes, using our races, training or hiking with the itsyourrace app. and share with us on Facebook.
