Armed Forces Day 5K   Race Results
May 21, Armed Forces Day 5K at Calverton!  http://ArmedForcesDay5KatCalverton.itsyourrace.com/
Results were posted live online as the race was going on with finisher photo's and finisher certificates. Thank you to all participants and volunteers and the Results Timing staff!
Armed Forces Day 5K is the second new race this year of our goal to produce 4-6 new races in 2016 and an additional 4-6 in 2017. Join The Island Running Club and help us reach our goals.
We are planning a Veterans Day race on the same course for early November. The Armed Forces 5K was a practice run toward making that happen. The Island Running Club will be forming a Veterans Committee to help organize this run as well as working with veterans throughout the year. Veterans are invited to join the club at a reduced fee and serve on the committee. You don't need to be a veteran to serve on the committee. The committee is open to families and friends in support of veterans.
This weekend we turn to remembering those who died while serving in the Armed Forces.

To benefit the Semper Fi Fund and Kaits Angels
The Semper Fi Fund and America’s Fund provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families, ensuring that they have the resources they need during their recovery and transition back to their communities. Since establishing the Semper Fi Fund in 2004, we’ve issued more than 106,000 grants, totaling more than $120 million in assistance to over 15,000 of our heroes and their families.
Join The Island Running Club
You don't have to join the Island Running Club to participate in our group runs and races, but it helps us in our efforts to provide these services. Joining the club provides the funds we need to pay our membership to the Road Runners Club of America, it pays for the insurance we have to carry to provide these services  and it provides the seed money we need to manage new events. Join The Island Running Club
Join as an individual or family. Join as a veteran or active service in our Armed Forces. Join as a race director and show your support and we'll support you in promoting your races.
