July 6th starts a new phase in opening that will allow for group activities. We are actively working on permits. There will be new procedures in place to protect your health. Please maintain social distancing, mask use and wash hands wherever you are out in public. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and Stay Strong!

Independence 5K July 1-12  
EXTENDED: July 1st -12th
We are extending our Virtual Run till July 12th to celebrate Independence Day 2020! But just the 5K!
Date: Today till July 12th

We could form a small groups for July 12th at Calverton. Watch for information at our facebook page Peconic Pathfinders

Register now and run a 5K anywhere this weekend till July12. Record on our free app or record manually. $10.00 Registration. Purchase optional Runners Stay Strong Bling!
We will be starting live programs at Calverton soon. We will incorporate training on using our virtual app at the town programs. Win points on Peconic Series Races.
Participate in any of our events this year,  you will be awarded points for participation, mileage, and donations. You can participate in several distances on the same registration. You can even do them all. Some have multiple distances. You can start with 1 mile and work your way up to 5K, 10K or 15K. Walk, Hike or Run your distances. Time does not matter.
You can register for our Peconic Pathfinders virtual event combined with Riverhead Athletic and Stay Strong events.

All our events since the start of the year are eligible for points. When the ban on live events is over, we will switch over to live events. Each event will have a virtual option as well.
Awards for series winners for the year to that date. Then we will start a new series of live and virtual races till the end of the year.

Peconic Pathfinders Shamrock 5K and other news.

Peconic Pathfinders was formed to find the hidden, unmarked and lost paths and in the spirit of Dr. Robert Cushman Murphy, we support environmental conservation. In 1960 Dr. Murphy led a successful citizen initiative to establish the area as the first major natural park in the Suffolk County Park system. The 2,200-acre park was originally named the Peconic River County Park and renamed on what would have been his 100th birthday.   There are many paths, ponds and a river. The only marked trail today is the Pine Barrens Trail, AKA the Paumanok Path. Peconic Pathfinders has found the paths, cleaned them up and maintain them. We hope to be able to mark them soon. Depending on your status, now is the time to get back in shape or to get in better shape. There's not a lot of events going on in the winter. It's too wet and cold. Many of you travel to warmer climates in February. We now have many friends who live or travel to other parts of the country or other countries. We invite you to share with us on any of our Facebook groups. Tell your story and send photo's. Group photos are always fun. Tell us where you are running, walking or hiking.   You can participate in our workouts, training or hikes, using our races, training or hiking with the itsyourrace app. and share with us on Facebook.
