DESCRIPTION
11th Annual Jimi Gubelli - 5K Run/Walk through scenic Island Park, rain or shine.  Flat and fast course with personalized finish line announcing & computerized chip timing. Race Starts 8:30 Sharp!

REGISTRATION Pre-Registration: $30 | after June 14th: $35Children 14 and under: $15   Group Registration Group of 10: $250
If you have a group of more than ten, fill out the first ten in your group and then contact us for additional registrations. Mail In Registrations: Please make checks payable to Jimi Gubelli Foundation, Inc., PO Box 293, Island Park NY 11558 
AMENITIES  All pre-registered participants will receive commemorative t-shirt and goody bag.  Water and restrooms available at check-in.  Multiple aid stations available on the course.  Computer scoring and results sent out after the race.  Post Race Party with food, drink, entertainment, prizes and raffles!

We are inviting a lot of our friends, both old and new, to like our page here with the official opening of the path coming up on July 1st. We will be organizing group walks, group runs and launching our new hiking group. Join us!  Bring your bike! or walk or run all or part of the 15K Loop.

The Island Running Club is for Hikers too. We are in the process of forming the Peconic Trails Society. The Island Running Club will be changed to the Peconic Road and Trail.
Runners join Island Running, Hikers and Trail Runners join as Peconic Trails Member. Open to all hikers and runners.  Your membership fees will go into a special fund devoted to Peconic Trail Preservation and management and in creating new trails. Our newsletter will keep you updated on trail projects, hikes and runs.

Peconic Pathfinders was formed to find the hidden, unmarked and lost paths and in the spirit of Dr. Robert Cushman Murphy, we support environmental conservation. In 1960 Dr. Murphy led a successful citizen initiative to establish the area as the first major natural park in the Suffolk County Park system. The 2,200-acre park was originally named the Peconic River County Park and renamed on what would have been his 100th birthday.   There are many paths, ponds and a river. The only marked trail today is the Pine Barrens Trail, AKA the Paumanok Path. Peconic Pathfinders has found the paths, cleaned them up and maintain them. We hope to be able to mark them soon. Depending on your status, now is the time to get back in shape or to get in better shape. There's not a lot of events going on in the winter. It's too wet and cold. Many of you travel to warmer climates in February. We now have many friends who live or travel to other parts of the country or other countries. We invite you to share with us on any of our Facebook groups. Tell your story and send photo's. Group photos are always fun. Tell us where you are running, walking or hiking.   You can participate in our workouts, training or hikes, using our races, training or hiking with the itsyourrace app. and share with us on Facebook.
