Long before the first Earth Day in 1970, Robert Cushman Murphy was warning us about Whaling. As A, world renown ornithologist, he was one of the first to raise the alarm to ban DDT. In 1960 Dr. Murphy led a successful citizen initiative to purchase 2200 acres as the first major natural park in Suffolk County. He published "Fish Shaped Paumanok" in 1964. April 23:  9:00 am The Earth 5K/15k at Veterans Memorial Park, Rt 25, Calverton, NY (across from the National Cemetary)

April 24; Dedication and Guided Hike
Hike with us every Sunday in April at noon. Meet at Calverton Ponds County Park, Old Riverhead Rd, Calverton (Use Google Maps)

April 24: 12 noon. Join us for our dedication for our new path: Roberty Cushman Murphy Peconic River County Park. as we hike the  RCM Peconic Green Trail  and cross our footbridge built on Earth Day 2021. Join the club and hike with us every Sunday as we discover and create more trails in the Peconic Ponds, Pinebarrens, and Robert Cushman Murphy County Park (RCM). The RCM Project  Dedication and 5M Hike starts at Calverton Ponds County Park on Old River Road. Use Google Maps 

Sign Up for free for the dedication and/or hike or with a $5.00 donation for basic membership.

Join the Peconic Pathfinders as a hiker, runner, walker or volunteer.
Basic Membership for Hikers, Runners, Volunteers include all hikes, practice runs, meetings. 
Volunteers are needed to help at events and on the trails. Basic Membership pays for insurance. $5.00

Basic Plus Membership includes our Earth Tee Shirt. $15.00

Depending on your status, now is the time to get back in shape or to get in better shape. There's not a lot of events going on in the winter. It's too wet and cold.
