Island Running is working on it's spring races, and we are looking to form some committee's to help us with our different projects. We are planning a Veterans race at the Veterans Memorial Park in Calverton, for Memorial Day weekend. We'd like to form a veterans committee to help us with this and other projects. We have a discounted membership for Veterans and active service members. Veteran supporters are invited to serve on the committee as well.
We also need help with managing our races. We need volunteers to help at races. Registration, water stops, course set up and other management volunteers are needed.. We can only do this with your help. Sign up for our Volunteers Committee.

Featuring Long Island as a tourist destination, but also as a guide for us to recognize what a special place this is. We invite you to rediscover Long Island with new eyes and to look around us and see that we are the center of a eclectic world of diversity, New York City to our west and and Rural New England to our north, Long Island is the middle ground. Long Island Destinations and Getaways will explore it all.

I've been hiking and running the Paumanok Path, off an on, since it was first being created. I'm very happy to be working with Ken Kindler on his inventory hikes. It's the first assessment of the condition of the trail in many years. I hope to see others joining us along the route.
