Summer Running in the Hamptons

Summer Running in the Hamptons
29th Annual Joe Koziarz 5K - Wow!
I remember when it was the Westhampton 5K. I don't remember it well, but I remember it was a hot day. That's the way it has always been. Hey, it's summer! It's always a hot day, but the race never fails to draw a crowd. Join us on July 15th. Has it really been 29 years? Does anyone have any photo's of the first? Results? Send to LIRunning and we'll put something together. We'll have booths at the finish line and at the Village Green with live results! Bring your memorabilia of all races past. We'll photograph it and put it in a journal. Let's have fun!

The Island Running Club and the LI Trails Newsletter
Island Running is working on it's spring races, and we are looking to form some committee's to help us with our different projects. We are planning a Veterans race at the Veterans Memorial Park in Calverton, for Memorial Day weekend. We'd like to form a veterans committee to help us with this and other projects. We have a discounted membership for Veterans and active service members. Veteran supporters are invited to serve on the committee as well.
Island Running is also active on our trails. Runners and Hikers are invited to join the club and serve on a trails committee. We currently work and hike the Paumanok Path, the Veterans Memorial Path and we are working on connector trails in the Riverhead and Brookhaven. LI Trails Newsletter
We also need help with managing our races. We need volunteers to help at races. Registration, water stops, course set up and other management volunteers are needed.. We can only do this with your help. Sign up for our Volunteers Committee.
Island Running Club is a RRCA member. We are looking for local leaders to form running groups around Long Island.
Tell us about yourself and what committee you would like to work on. islandrunning@yahoo.com
